DC-9 / C-9 FAA and ICAO Stage 3 Compliance DC-9 HUSHKIT LLC (DHC) provides noise suppression (Hushkit) technologies to the McDonnell Douglas DC-9-10/20/30/40/50 and C-9 series aircraft equipped with Pratt & Whitney JT8D-7/9/11/15/17 series engines. The Hushkit allows the aircraft to operate under the FAA and ICAO Stage 3 noise regulations. Company ProfileDHC purchased the Hushkit STCs and inventory from ABS Partnership in December 2003. DHC operates from the same facilities utilized by ABS (in Reno/Sparks, Nevada), and with the same technical personnel. ABS was formed in 1988, and together with Pratt & Whitney and McDonnell Douglas, developed and certified Hushkit technologies for the C-9 and the DC-9-10/20/30/40 and 50 series aircraft with maximum takeoff weights ranging from 90,700 pounds to 121,000 pounds. The first FAA certification flight test was completed 13 September 1990. The first ABS/DHC Hushkit has been in operation since 3 May 1991.
Over 500 Hushkits have been delivered to DC-9 / C-9 operators all over the world.
